Subject: cant reload primary and secondary ide channel drivers

had some virus/trojan problems, scanned and fixed, everything running fine
except I no longer have my two drives: master: Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615 and
slave: Philips DVD+-RW DVD8701. Tried device mgr uninstall/reinstall but
nothing. All my card drives still work. Any ideas? I have the original CD
from DELL with device drivers on it, but can'y use it due to above problem.
Would appreciate any help.

Do the drives show up in BIOS. You have to start there.
