hi pete, thank you for trying to help. I can't get to anything, I don't even
have a white curser on the screen. I have the motherboard that came with the
computer, but that didn't do anything ether, I still have just a blank, black
screen. I think I may have done something wrong in the bio part, but how on
earth do you get to it, it you can't even get the screen to work? If I put
disk in one of the cd-roms, it will act like it is going to work. then the
green light for that cd-rom just turns off. and the cd stops. If I put it
in the cd burner, the green light for it stays on and it won't go off. I
don't know what else to tell you at this point. This is an I buy power
computer I ordered off the internet. I had them put in an ASUS A7N8X Delux
NFORCE2 mother board, I have eVGA display ddriver installation for windows,
nVIDDIA for sound I think, nero, cyberlink PowerDirector Me, Power DVDxp
don't know what that one does. Does any of this help you? So sorry if I
can't give you the right answers, I will try! Thanks again, sharon

Ok Sharon,
First things first, try and keep all the posts to do with this together,
when you need to reply to a message on this subject use the reply button,
that keeps everything together so people can see what advice has already been
given.

When you turn the computer on can you press Alt + F2 straight away to open
the BIOS dialog.

Try it and post back, also see if you have a floppy disk with a file called
"AW?????.bin" where the question marks are numbers?

Pete, I tried the alt Fz and it did not work, I do not have any floppy disks
except for the one for the keyboard. Thanks for telling me about how to
reply, didn't know.

I think I am still doing this posting thing wrong, I answered you right
away but I don't see it posted. No the Alt +2 did not work. I don't have
any floppy disk except for the one for the keyboard. I went into the bio
after the recovery disk stopped and asked for that other disk with number on
it. Someone on here said it was the battery, but I have the alarm turned on
to tell me when it is getting low. Computer is two yrs. old. Should I try
to get one, I will have to order off the internet no one here in town will
have it I don't think. If it is made for ASUS they won't if not then maybe
I could find one at best buy? Tell me what you think. Again thanks, for the
help, it gives me hope in man kind. What about a fuse? Would it still be
able to turn on if it was a blown fuse? I'm just coming up with what ever I
can!

You are doing fine with the replies, it sometimes takes a while for them to
appear. I needed some sleep anyway so Good Morning.

Fair enough Alt+F2 not working, does pressing DEL key at startup not give
you anything either?

If you go to the ASUS website, I have downloaded the manual for you board
and started working through it, might be useful if you can see it as well.

Oops, forgot to ask, Do you know the revision number of your board.
If you are ok taking the case off it is usually in white letters on the
board itself, we need to know if it is v.1.03, v.1.04, etc.

Hi,

Not heard for a while so possibly you have already fixed the problem.
If not unplug power to computer, remove battery from motherboard, wait a
couple of minutes and reinsert.
This should reset BIOS to factory default.
