Personal Firewall-Will Not Enable

Every time I try to enable the Personal Firewall in XP
Pro, it comes back with the error:

"An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was
being enabled.
The dependancy service or group failed to start."

Hi Jim,

This problem could occur if you have:

1. installed Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows XP, and then used the
System Restore feature to restore Windows to a state before the
installation of the service pack.


OR

2. Installed SP1 for Windows XP when Windows XP Home is installed and
then you upgraded to Windows XP Professional.


You should try reinstalling SP1.
