Internet Firewall Error

i got a message trying to enable the firewall on my pc.
it says
"an error occured while Internet Connection Sharing was
being enabled"
"the dependancy service or group failed to start"
all i could find on it was that it was error code 761
and i should contact my system admin.

So did I yesterday! In my case, easy to solve. I just
put back a few (3?) alg files (alg.exe + similiar) that I
had removed as suspected virus remnants.

Otherwise check firewall service is not disabled.
Go to Admin Tools > Services. Service name does not
menatoiun Firewall. You'll have to scan through
descriptions.

Sorry I'm doing all this from memory away from my XP
machine.
