enabling firewall protection on XP pro

Hello, I am trying to enable my firewall protection via
network connection, however, it doesnt allow me and is
giving me the following error message: "An error occured
while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The
dependency service or group failed to start." I just
recently got this notebook, which initially came with XP
home. After, it was upgraded to XP pro. You help will
