Permissions SNAFU - HELP!

Gretings-

Windows 2003 Server. Single Forest, single Domain. Migrating files from
NetWare using the File Migration Utility. When the files reach the Windows
side, they, by default, are owned by Domain Admin w/ Full Control. The
files in question are copied to a share that is for the users' Home
Directories, which are defined in the users' profiles.

As the Domain Admin, I go into the %Username% folder properties, to the
Security Tab, Advanced, Owner Tab. I add the Username in question to the
list, highlight, select the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"
checkbox, and click on apply, making the Username in question the new owner
of the folder, all subfolders, and files.

Now when I'm logged into a workstation as the Username in question, open
Windows Explorer, and access the mapped drive to the folder structure I just
migrated I can't add, delete, or modify anything!!! What's going on?!

This has also happened by just copying files from NetWare to Windows.
Checking the folders and files reveals that the Username in question IS the
owner and has Full Control permissions to the folders and files.

Thanx for the Help

Well, are these shares on a Windows Server 2003? By default, the shares are
created with Everyone-Read share permission. This is different from W2k
behavior where default share permission was Everyone-Full Control.
Therefore, changing share permission is most likely all that you need.
