permission tab in windows xp

I have a problem when i right click the folder>properties. the permission tab desn't show in the page. Shall I need to join the Domain before the permission tab can be showed? I using a standalone windows XP pro

(e-mail address removed)
 
there is no permissions tab....security tho.
