Folder Permission

Hi,

I was playing around with the folder permissions as i was not familiar with
sharing and security. Well, i realized now i should not have done that at the
first place.

Anyway, now i am unable to delete a folder from my hard disk. The permission
is full control for Everybody user group. Then i added a Administrators user
group to the permission as well. Initially, i wanted to remove Everybody so
that only the administrators will be able to write, modify, etc.

Now the the security tab after right-clicking on properties of folder, i am
unable to add or remove any group or username. On that same security tab and
after clicking on advance, i accidentally went to deny certain access for
Everybody user group.

Which i assume is the reason why i cant make any changes to the file at all.
Is there anyway i can reset the folder permissions? And the username that i
am using now is the administrator's account. I am also using Win Xp Pro SP2.

Can anyone also give me some tips on how i should handle file permissions.
Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I managed to take back ownership and only able to
delete some folders. I still receive an error message saying:

Cannot delete filename.doc: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not
currently in use.

I am sure that the file is not opened at all when i attempted to delete.
What do you think is happening? Thank you
