'Permanently delete junk' does not work

CJSnet

Hi, I have the latest updates to Outlook 2003 and the junk mail filter.

When I choose the 'High' level of Junk detection, it successfully moves all
junk to the junk mail folder.

If I then tick 'Permanently delete suspected junk mail...' it stops moving
it to the junk mail folder, and doesn't delete it either as a result!

I have my e-mail account settings set to remove messages from the server
when removed from deleted items, so junk mail would therefore be removed
from the server which is exactly what I want, as then I won't be downloading
piles of it when on my laptop or smartphone.

This is REALLY annoying as this feature would be perfect if it did what is
said. I have seen other posts but no solutions to this. Can anyone from MS
please investigate and see what is going wrong?

Please help! :(

PS: A better implementation would be 'delete suspected junk mail from the
server and leave a copy in my junk mail folder'. This would mean that when
returning home you could check the folder in case genuine e-mail went in
there, but you still wouldn't download all junk to your laptop or
smartphone.

Thanks.

Anyone? There must be a solution to this. Are MS aware of the issue?

This newsgroup is not a Microsoft support channel, so it's unlikely
(although not impossible) that anyone from Microsoft will comment in this
forum.

Sadly I've used up my free support requests. I don't suppose anyone here
wants to report it do they?
