Permanent Drive Mapping

I use mapped drives over a network to access files. When
checking the "Reconnect at Login" on previous Windows
versions I would be prompted for a password (the username
was saved) and reconnected during bootup. Windows 2000
recognizes the drive was mapped but will not accept a
password. This occurs even when the username is
ADMINISTRATOR. I must abort the login and remap the drive
manually. How can I make Windows 2000 remember the login
name and respond correctly during bootup to the entry of
the password?

If you have a server which acts as a domain server you may want to consider
using a login script which maps the drives.

If you do not, then you'll have to make sure the same account and password
are present on both machines for this process to happen automatically.

Kind Regards,

I don't use DNS (static IP configuration) and the account
exists on both machines. Any other ideas?
