"People came back and said, 'Please, will you take this off and replace it with XP?'"

Then you don't know many people.

Most people are naturally resistant to change. They don't like "new" when
they are comfortable with "old and familiar".

I couldn't agree more with those last two sentences.

You see the same thing with *every* new version of Windows that is
released.

K

Ken Blake, MVP

Yes, I know that. The biggest improvement is that it doesn't force you to
top post like OE did.

OE *never* forced you to top post. It was always your choice. OE
placed the cursor for top-posting by default, but you could always
move it where you wanted.

I used OE for newsgroups for years, and never top-posted.

True but do eMachines, HP, Packard Bell, Dell, et al include or even

Yes as accessories. What about UnButtTu?

If you value performance, then you will detest WinMail. Running XP
in a virtual machine to get OE is a Vista possibility. The develpers main
objective with WinMail was reforming the database. They made losing the
store less likely. Mission accomplished! Oop...uh, well gosh - at the cost
of making msimn repulsive. Well, so who uses it anyway? Negative cash
flow, right? If users go to web services MS can hope for regular payments.

Microsoft could get nagged into making Windows' internet mail & news
client somewhat less awful, but it's as if there's no will - too much
nagging.

Alias...It does not matter whether they mention it or not...Common sense

always thought this way even before I got my first computer which was win95

Your only talent is spreading lies and feeble attempts to build
strawman. You're just a clown Frankie and not even a good one.

You expect us to believe you run a business? You couldn't tie your

Looks like Ian can't answer the question, so he digresses to assumptions and
assertions. Of which I know more than one assumption is false in my case.

No, they figure UnbuttTu users are so full of sh*t that they produce
enough methane gas to run their own power generators in times of power
failures.
All they recommend to them is that they purchase a URR (Universal Rectal
Receptor) which will facilitate the hookup between their ass and their
generator.
It's the "free" thingie...you know...UnButtTu is free and so is their
gas...!
Hey, I guess they like that free sh*t!

Only if you ask and know what to ask for. Most people don't ask and most
people don't know what to ask for and that doesn't stop the clerk from
making the sale. If you peruse the OE newsgroups, there are thousands of
posts from people who have lost their message store due to a power
outage while compacting.
What about UnButtTu?

Ubuntu doesn't sell computers and you know it so why do you ask?

Having brains and having knowledge are two, separate things. Most people
do not know what a UPS is and don't ask for it. If you don't believe me,
peruse the OE newsgroups and look for "I lost all my messages!" subject
headings.
