pen drives and 7 port hub not recognized by XP

I have been using pen drives and this hub for months now, all of a sudden it
has stopped working and will not recognize them when I plug them in . A card
reader is also not accepted. It seems that there are only two out of four USB
ports working on my PC. I have noticed that the log on has only one name
avalable ,the admin one ot my own name. Thanks if anyone can help me out ,I
really need all these things working. Palacewatch

Start>Run>type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotes)>OK
Scroll down to the USB Controllers. Rightclick>Properties>
Device Usage each one at a time to check if they have not been disabled.

have checked devive manager and everything is enabled,have plugged old usb
hub back in to pc and it works fine. have even tried a new hub but the pc
doesn't recognize it either.
