Peculiar start-up problem

This just started recently...sounds more like a hardware problem, but though
I'd ask the question anyway. Have a 4 year old compaq pc running windows xp
home. Go through the normal shut down procedure start>turn off computer>turn
off. Machine goes through shut down as it should and then completely shuts
off. If I wait 10-15 seconds, it turns back on. The only way for me to shut
down is to unplug from the power strip. As I said, I am assuming it is
either the start switch or the power supply...but if anyone has other ideas...

Check your BIOS for any "Wake On..." settings that may be enabled.
