Log off /Reboot problem

I have problem with logging off or shut down my pc with XP SP2. I have the
last update from Microsoft too.

When I gå to Start and then log off or shut down and choose to either log
off or Shut down nothing happen. I have to turn off the pc by power cabel.

Somebody knows what the problem is?

Of course, you need to make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

Also installing the MS User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps with
shutdown issues, but the machine must be clean and you should go
through the shutdown troubleshooter first.
