PDF Hyperlink

Jim

I am using Access 2007 with Vista Home Premium with the database on a
network drive. I have a Hyperlink field to pdf files on the network drive.
When I click on the link, the Adobe link comes up but immediately closes.
Using the XP the hyperlinked file opens, and then remains open as desired.

Any suggestions? Thanks

You might want to try the Access group - this is a General Windows Vista
group.

That said, I don't know if the issue is actually a Vista problem or Access -
have you tried the Access group to see if other users have the same problem?

I know that some problem concerning Hyperlinks and the Expression Web Design
software (when inserting hyperlinks and using Vista, or maybe that was
Frontpage, i don't know.) - maybe the same sort of thing. I think this
issue was cleared up if you install SP1 for Vista and/or SP1 for MS
Office/Frontpage.

So in your case do a "search for updates" for MS Office (through Windows
Update) and install applicable service packs.

Might also help if you install the latest Adobe reader. (or uninstall the
adobe, and install another PDF reader to see if you have the same trouble.
If not you can be fairly certain it was Adobe Acrobat Reader causing the
problem.
