I am trying to download picture from my digital cameras
memory card which I plugged into my pcmcia port. It
recognizes the card, but it does not give me a drive
letter for it. Is there something I am doing wrong?

This is common symptom of some problem (usually, incompatible filesystem format)
why the OS can't
access the card. Try another computer; try search FAQs and utilities on the site
of your camera's maker.
