PCI extreme?

My brother has this MOBO (I think) and it has a PCI extreme slot.

What does this do? I've never heard of it before.

i think they mean a PCI express slot, its a high speed connection typically for graphics cards

That's whats completely thrown me. I didn't think any motherboards had both agp and pci-e.

Sorry if i'm being a bit thick, but isn't that article about PCI express not PCI extreme?

There is a thing call PCI extreme which is a piece of software that allows you to increase bandwidth for ATI PCI graphics cards, appartnly, dont know if that actually works though, but a new MOBO would have PCI Express, which is taking over from AGP as the connection used for graphics cards as it has more bandwidth
