PC (XP Home) Will not shut down.

Since starting with ADSL broadband my system XP Home will not turn off. If
use LogOff and Switch User it is OK. It does come up with an advisory/error?
message saying that another user is still current. However it still switches
the PC off.

Please be aware that most shutdown problems are caused by malware, so if
you haven't done any scanning for that you should. Here are some
