pc waking up

hey everyone...i just bought a dell with windows vista home premium... so far
i am very pleased with it but there is just one thing..that is that when i
put the computer to sleep. most of the time it will wake up on its own... i
can be in bed after putting it to sleep and 10 min later it awakes by
itslef.. also this happened only once, it was sleeping and it wouldnt wake
up.. can any one help please. thanks

Try to note the time your computer wakes up. If it is at the same time every
night the problem is your power company flashing the grid, a routine
procedure that normally occurs during the night when overall grid demand is
low and generally at the same time each night. Your system power supply can
sense the brief change and notifies the OS that something marvelous has
happened and it needs to awaken.

Isn't science wonderful?

I had similar problem. I had to turn off all scheduled system hard drive
defrags. Vista was waking up to defrag the hard drive.
