PC switching on by itself

Hi, I am having a problem where anytime My home phone (yes I have dial up) is
used, rings or my flatmate connects to the net, My PC switches itself on. So
far I have only been able to unplug the phone line at the wall socket or
modem to stop this happening. Does anyone have any ideas?

go into fax properties, near the printer section and choose
properties and uncheck it to allow the computer to answer
like a fax machine

Sounds like a BIOS setting. Check your hardware documentation if you don't
know how to view/change BIOS settings. (It's usually a special keystroke
immediately after power on -- Del, F1, something like that.)

Go into your bios an undo Wake on Modem and/or Wake on Lan.
