Could anyone help me to route my PC speaker sounds to my sound card. (I run
an old ABC music program and my new PC speaker is very weak)

It may depend on which sound card you use, I think that some of the
Creative cards have this option - and probably others.

The information will be in the sound card manual though, it usually
consists of connecting the speaker to a set of pins on the sound card.

Have a look at the manual, or failing that the sound card
manufacturer's web site.

I very much doubt this is possible - it's probable that the program is so
old that sound cards were in their infancy...

Huh MP? It is doable, and I've done it for the same reasons the
OP wants to - ambient noise and the computer not close to me,
it's a very weak sound and sometimes important, esp after some
specific tests, etc.. Like someone else said, it depends on the
sound card. Granted it doesn't usually get used much, but ... it
sure is possible! Just not usually worth much.

That said, when you turn on the System Sounds, the PC speaker has
very little to do, and even during boot, it can't tell you
anything until after the sound drivers etc. are loaded. Some
software however does use it.

When I built a new system this year, I was surprised to see a setting in
BIOS that enabled/disabled the playing of the system beep through the
onboard sound chip (and to the system speakers). It wouldn't hurt to check
your BIOS screens to see if you have a similar setting.

Yeah, well Miss Perspicacia Tick is very quick to judge others who give a
wrong answer here. She also makes it a point to constantly badger users with
rude comments. Sounds like a psycho to me.

Here's a few of her helpful comments from the past:

Miss Perspicacia Tick wrote:
So why are you top-posting, if you despise it so much?

I like that one, Jim is saying he likes top posting and Miss Tick is asking
why he's top posting if he hates it so much. Looney Tunes..........

Let's see some other dumb anrgry comments from her.
I have a new Dell dimension 3000. XP installed with NO service
Packs.

Miss Perspicacia Tick wrote:
No you don't. The version of Windows shipping on new Dells includes SP1.

I like how her comment is nasty and right to the point to show how smart she
is. She's gotta belittle Jim even though his comment has nothing to do with
the solution. Gee, like maybe he should have downloaded the newest printer
drivers from Lexmark.

For example I stored one
folder containing MP3's in a 40gb partition. The folder was approx
15gb in size. When I deleted the folder, instead of again being left
with 40gb, I was left with only 35. I'm getting the same with my
other partitions. Also is their a quick way of re-formatting an
already formatted NTSC drive?. Many thanks.

I know, I accept it, I'm a pedant, but old habits die hard, I'm afraid. I
had a fantastic O and A Level English teacher who drummed into our heads
that properly written and spoken English was the gateway to future success
(mind you, Dubya has one of the worst commands of English I've ever come
across - and somehow, probably something to do with Pa - he's managed to get
himself elected President. Twice.) Maybe I should just give up now and start
speaking like a cornball Texan, I might have better luck!

Not only is she an expert in english but her you know what doesn't stink and
she hates all AMERICANS because our leader can speak properly. This is
brilliant. This is brilliant. I suppose that we Americans are supposed to
hate all English people because Boy George was a gay heroin addict.

We upgraded to Windows Media Player 9, since then we have been unable
to burn cd's. We get the message that the music is write protected,
though we burchased the music & it is not downloaded.

I am using Windows Millennium...

Miss Perspicacia Tick wrote:
I'll give you kudos for spelling 'millennium' correctly, but you'll have to

three dozen or so ME groups, you know.
I've got a GeForce2, and do'nt see something about brightness/gamma
in the settings dialog. So I need to have a real software-dependent
program to solve this.

In the thread that you stored (i.e., Missing memory on slave drive?

, I absolutely loved the exchange regarding the meaning of
PAL.....especially MPT's remark stamped Feb 21, 3:31 pm and Colin

There are all types of people in this world.. the world would be dull and
choc full of people unable to help themselves if we were all to say 'good
job, but you were not completely right' even though the person may be
completely wrong..

You also have to remember that different cultures have different views of
what is right, wrong or politically correct/incorrect..

Trust me. This is why I read these postings. Great info and tons of laughs,
it's just that the majority of her postings are extremely angry and negative.
I gotta deal with it all day long but I find that it's better to make people
laugh once in a while. Most of the people she's bashing in here are obviously
novices and in some cases, they don't type too well. If you get past that,
you can actually help people rather than make them walk away from here
thinking people hate them. I work will people from all over the world and
while it maybe frustrating at times, I find it very gratifying to help
someone who doesn't have any idea why the PC is messed up.

Most of us wouldn't have a job if they could figure it out.

I dunno, life is too short.

Are you saying Tony Blair is a puppet? :) I just feel sorry for the guy that
married her. Or the next guy who does.
