PC running too hot ??

I think my PC is running too hot.For instance,when I remove a disc that has
been in for some time it is quite hot to touch and games often freeze
momentarily. How do I tell if this is the case?
 
You just did !

Make sure no fans are clogged and there is adequate air flow in/out of the chassis.

Open the case and run it open. Clean out any accumulated dust and crud,
especially off the fans. As the machine runs, observe all the fans. If
one is not running well, replace it. Depending on your motherboard,
there may be temperature monitoring you can do/set in the BIOS and also
there are motherboard monitoring programs that run in Windows.
