Pc Reboots when doing xp pro update

About a week ago I did my regular windows xp pro updates and
after I rebooted the computer I got a blank screen when it
gets to the log in screen. It then reboot itself and
repeat the process. I tried to restore the the previous
know good config. This gave me a blue screen that I could
not pass. I had to reformat and install windows again for
it to work. Well, last night i finally got every thing set
up again and did my updates. Same thing again. I do not
have any error messages because if there is, I cannot see
them because of the blank/black screen. I NEED HELP PLEASE.

Try doing a system restore from Safe Mode with command prompt.
