I was wondering if anyone knows if a game with saved data
can be transfered from one computer to another.I have
windowxp my son has window98,he plays pc games on my
computer and saves them.I want them off my computer & put
on his,Is there any way of doing this?please any help
would be great. He is sucking the life out of my computer.

Ghost is NOT what you want.

You have to know where the game is installed and the name of the saved games
file. You also need to know the name/location of the game configuration file
or the user configuration file. Each game is different. There is no "set"
answer. If you know these, you can install the game on the other computer
and then copy the requisite files into the same location on the other
computer. When you start the game it will, most likely, pick up on the
information.

Most games, sure. It's a matter of finding the file type that's created and
copying it over. Most games have a "Save" (or similar, like "Characters")
folder in the directory they're installed in. Only one I can think of right
offhand that doesnt' do that is the original Diablo, and then you just have
to update it to the latest patch. it converts the characters to
transferrable files after that.

There's no set file type (like Word documents are .doc, there are no ".game"
files) for games.

I have two sons and I know exactly what you are talking about.
There are forums on the internet for most popular games. You might try
posting this questinon on the appropriate game forum. Someone there should
be able to give you some detailed help. I did that once to find out how to
transfer a Diablo saved game.
