PC can not join a domain

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with making a desktop part of a domain.

To do so, I have right-clicked on the desktop's My Computer icon, selected
Properties in the menu displayed, clicked on the Computer Name tab, clicked
the Change button, selected Member of Domain radio button and then entered
the domain name. However, the radio buttons to join a domain or a workgroup
is grayed out.

The computer is runing Windows XP Pro with service pack 2. The issue did
exist prior to the install of SP2.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Make sure that your network card is working properly in Device Manager and
that you are physically connected to the network with latest drivers
installed. If the NIC is not functioning correctly you will not have any
network connection properties allowed.

There may be other issues but these are the most common I have found.
