Hi,
I have Windows XP Media center and I try to join my computer to a Windows
2003 domain but if I click on Modify button, doain section is grayed and I
can't do anything.
How can I activate this domain section to be able to add domain name ?
Thanks

Windows XP MCE is unable to join a domain by design. I believe there are
some registry hacks to enable this feature, but of course they're not
supported by Microsoft.

Basically, you install XP Pro. Neither XP Media Center or XP Home editions
support joining a domain.

It's not an addon.

Windows Media Center Edition is another version of XP, neither Home or Pro,
and there are a number of things that will *not* run properly on it.

Ironically, audio interface hardware is one of the things that often won't
run properly if at all, so the "Media Center Edition" can't be used for
creating music with better quality hardware.

Media Center does support joining a domain but only at first install
and for one domain (you can not change it ever.) Not useful for
business networking.

Is Media center an add on to Windows XP

No.

or is it an other version of Windows

Yes. It is one of the editions of Windows XP, which are

Home Edition
Professional Edition
Media Center Edition
Tablet PC Edition
Professional x64 Edition

Media Center Edition is essentially XP Professional, plus its media
features, and minus the ability to join a domain.

Nope.

I've installed it many times, and not once - EVER - has it given me
the chance to join it to a Domain. Sorry, but it doesn't support
Domains.

I've installed MCE 2005 a few time already. It only lets you select a
"domain" once during a "clean" install. You can not change domains
and you can not re-connect to a domain after selecting WORKGROUP.
