Passwords not remembered

A friend is running WindowsXP and is complaining that when he is asked by
Windows if he wants Windows to remember a password that he has just typed in
and he replies "yes", then the system does not remember that password for
the next time. Any ideas???

Try this
Go to Internet Options under control panel

select content tab

click on the AutoComplete button

Make sure there are checks in "User names and passwords on forms" and "
prompt me to save passwords"

If they are checked uncheck them click OK and the go back and check them
again and see if that helps.

Thanks

I have the same problem and I tried this and it did not work.

I cleared all the checks under Tools->Internet
Options->Content->Autocomplete...
clicked OK
waited for my webpage to come back.
went in and checked all the check marks under Tools->Internet
Options->Content->Autocomplete...
clicked OK
waited for my webpage to come back.

XP with IE still cannot remember a password.

I have never seen this work anywhere.

Mine works great now! Everytime.

Just make sure you have the site set as a "Trusted site", and it works great
every time.

Tools->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites
Add the site name (i.e.): http://microsoft.com

uncheck the Require Server verification.
OK
