Password request

I am running XP Pro with SP2. While outlook is open either in the background
or the foreground, I will at random get a message pop up asking for my
network password. The password is already typed into the window as well as
the username. There is a check box asking if I want to save the password. I
check yes and click ok. It just keeps coming back. Can anyone help?
 
Sounds like your mail server isn't recognizing your password, or not
responding.

I find that Outlook will ask for you password if it cannot connect to the
mail server.
