Hi,

I just got a new laptop that runs on Windows XP. I created
my Windows user account and set up my password for privacy
protection. However, after I logged off the computer, then
tried to log in again, for whatever reason Windows did not
accept the password I entered. I am very sure the passowrd
I entered was the one I set up at the first place. As a
result I can't log in my computer at all.

Can someone give me an idea why did this happen and how
can I bypass this problem and log in my computer? How do I
reset the password?

Thanks,

S.S.

You can,t because security issue.
You can try using recovery console (from installation CD).
Alternative you have to reinstall XP over existing.
May be your password Upper/lower mixed case?
Good Look.

Well, it can be done - as the administrator. The admininstrator
account is set up automatically. If no password was ever set for it,
then it has a blank password.

OP:: if you logon as Administrator (no p/w UNLESS you specified one)
then you can clear the p/w for the account in question from control
panel/user accounts.
