Password for Welcome Screen

No, I haven't forgotten mine but I thought that at one time I came across a
window somewhere, accidentally, and it showed me what my information was for
my user account. I have a problem, well actually my Mother-In-Law does, where
she has someone living in her home that wants to access porn and shop using
her credit cards on her computer, without her permission of course. I set up
her computer with a password and she didn't write it down and it's nothing
that he could ever guess. However, she had him helping her check some emails
the other day and I think that he found out how to retrieve the password once
she's logged in. Can someone please let me know if I am just imagining that I
saw this once? The problem is that we know that he's been on her computer but
we can't figure out how he got in. He of course denies everything and says
that we are crazy! Whole other issue there. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks

You could set the screensaver to a short delay (1 minute or so) and make
it require the password when resuming, if that is too much hassle maybe a
fingerprint reader..? They're not the most secure of devices but I would
think are adequate for things like this.

Hey there

what you can do is start your computer in safe mode by pressing the f8 key
like fury before when you begin booting your pc. then select safe mode with
networking. when it starts up there will be an administrator account appear.
providing no password is set you can click on administrator and enter windows
then go in to control panel select user accounts click on your mother in laws
account and select change user password.Whilst your there set a password for
the adminstrator account too for extra security so that pervert can do the
same to gain access too.

Hello,

You don't have to go through safe mode to enter the admin account. Actually,
the person in the home is probably accessing the computer via this account.
