Password expiry on start up

Hi

Everytime i power up my PC i am greeted with a message
instructing me that my password has only so many days to
run.
I want to disable this but cannot recall entering a
password and therefore i am unable to disable it.
Any ideas would be gratefull received

Hi Paul,

Start/run control userpasswords2

On the advanced tab, click the advanced button. Click on the users folder,
then right-click your username and select properties. There is an option you
can enable for "password never expires".

This is done from the group policies for your computer.

Easiest way to change... Sign on as administrator... Right click on
"My Computer"... Click "Manage"... Select "Loval Users and Groups"...
Select "Users"... Select the user you want to change and double
click... On the first tab, you should see a box that says "Password
never expires"... Check that box and click Apply or OK

If this is XP Pro (and I think it must be; Home does not appear to have
this time limit), go to Control Panel - Admin Tools - Local Security
Policy

There in Account Policies - Password Policy set the Maximum age to zero
to disable the check (in fact you might as well set the top four to
zero, and the other two to Disabled)
