WHY IS THE PAPERCLIP ICON SHOWN TO THE LEFT OF ALL MY EMAILS EVEN THOUGH
THERE ARE NO ATTACHMENTS? I'M USING OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP

You are reading in Plain Text (a setting in Options) and the messages are
html.

Are you using AVG 7 antivirus ?

YES I'm using AVG 7 anti-virus. Should I use somethingelse? You're right as
it seems to have started after I installed AVG.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Open AVG control Centre, Click on E-Mail Scanner. On "plugins" click
"configure".... take the tick out of "certify mail".

Its this in AVG 7 that puts the paperclip there ( the message on an email at
the bottom to say mail has been scanned.)

Hi, I was just perusing some threads of interest and found this one from back
in 2004. I had that paperclip thing too so have just done as you suggested.
People should read "old" threads as 9 times out of 10, you're likely to find
someone who has had the same problem as you at some stage.
Thanks for your expertise.
I love this site.
