Why does the paperclip icon show up to the left of most of my email even
though there are no attachments? I'm using outlook express and windows XP

Thanks,

Hi Doug,

Probably you are reading in plain text mode, and the emails are in html.

How do I find out if the receive mail is in text format? I checked the send
mail and it is in HTML. Guess I'm a little slow!!

Thanks again,

Hi Doug,

Click tools/options and look on the read tab. For safety, it is best left in
the text read mode, html email can contain unwanted code that can infect a
system.

Rick- Thanks for the help but the box to read in plain text was not checked
so I guess that wasn't the problem. Any other ideas?
