Paper jam error on Sharp printer

I have a Sharp JX-9400 laser printer that is really old and well used. I
have managed to do a factory reset on the machine to exend the life of my
toner cartridge.

I have managed to print about 50 pages or so. However, recently the printer
has stopped pulling in paper from it's main lower tray. When I print the
printer sounds like it's behaving like it did before (no strange noises etc)
but it wont pull in any paper. I can put paper into the manual single paper
feeder and it pulls paper in about 3/4 of the way and then it stops and says
"PAPER JAM". I have tried to clean all the rollers I can but I still get
the problem. I think the printer is still electronically sound but it
appears to have developed a mechanical fault.

Can anybody suggest what I can do next to repair the fault? Should I open
up the printer and try and look at some of the rollers from inside?

Thanks.

Consult www.fixyourownprinter.com which sells
repair kits for mechanical breakdowns for some models.
