I have a user who is running Office XP SP3 10.6612.6626 on a Windows XP
machine. As of today any documents that have page numbering x of y in the
footer views ok on screen but when printed it prints page numbering
incorrectly - (example int prints page 3 of 3 instead of page 3 of 18).

I have tried several different printers - same results.

Help!

Thanks Jay,

I will try the suggestions since all updates are installed.
Seems like a pain, and after knowing of the issue in 2000 wouldn't think
this would be happening again,
- but if the suggestions works it will be better then what we're currently
receiving as output.

Jay Thanks!

I decided to start with step 2 -
Switch into Print Preview and back - Twice
It solved this issue......
Don't understand...and I don't think I ever will.
But thanks again.

Definitely the background printing issue for me. No background printing, no
problem.

Not seeing original post. Responding to it here. There is a bug in Word that
is different in different versions (including different SRs).
See http://www.addbalance.com/word/pagexofy.htm or
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/PageXofY.htm for information on Page
X of Y problems. You may also want to take a look at:
