Page x of Y error

Have anyone experienced the following error while using page X of Y in the
page footer?

I created a simple document and use footer to display the Page x of y.
It works on the preview page 1 of 3, page 2 of 3 and page 3 of 3.
The printed document shows page 1 of 1, page 2 of 2 and page 3 of 3 instead.

I've tried it in different printer and turn out the same problem. My office
is office 2002 SP-2.
