Okay, I've been able to wrestle this program to get it to do what I want it
to.. except for the numbering I have at the bottom of the page.

What it's doing: after page ten, it starts counting over again. ie, page one
is -1- through ten: -10-. Page 11 displays as --1-- and 12 displays as --2--
and so on (note the extra hyphens).

Any idea how to fix this?

I figured it out myself.

For others:

Somehow, a section break was added after page 10. To view section breaks, go
into draft view (under the View tab). Select the section break and hit
delete. This fixed my problem.

FWIW, Word adds section break(s) automatically in some situations, for
example, when you change the orientation or the number of columns for the
selection.
