page not displaying properly

On certain internet sites the page will not display
properly and a message appears saying "you need to
download java virtual machine to display this page
properly". I have no idea what this is or where to find
it. I have searched microsoft downloads but am faced with
written subject that is beyond me.
Any help in simple English would be much appreciated.

Get the first version(build 3805), then do the updates.
