I'd never heard of Shaw Secure, before but a quick Google brought me to this:
http://www.asksomeone.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4473

Here's a snippet of somebody asking if it's any good from that site:

Well...I could probably get fired for this. I'm a TSR for Shaw and have
spent many countless hours on the phone troubleshooting a very wide assortment of
problems with Shaw Secure. Will I run it on my own systems...not on your life. When
we have to take customers to online scanners on the web to remove what Shaw Secure
detects but can't remove has to say a lot about how effective it is.

For free AV either stick with AVG or try Avast. If you don't mind paying for AV go
with Nod32...that's what I use and I've been extremely impressed with it. Purchase a
router to eliminate the need for firewall software. Use Ad-Aware and Spybot on a
weekly basis and finally, take advantage of the various online scanners to double
check that your programs are doing their job.

Also from this site where another person was thinking of switching to Shaw Secure
because it's free:

NO dont do it..you are fine where you are . Shaw will not stand behind
you and it will be nothing but grief There are lots of anti virus set ups to
uuse..and the one you already have is very good

been there done that

You're seeing the affects of a hijackware infection (cf.
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=37919).

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

2. Run this online scan (in safe mode w/networking, if need be):
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
