page cannot be displayed

ok guys any help here appreciated

i recently got DSL, and my internet explorer was working
fine with it, and one day it just decided it was not
going to load anything, so all i now get it "this page
cannot be displayed"

i have tried re-installing it, doing the winsock fix and
clearing cache and the likes to try remedy the problem,
nothing is solving it, ive scanned for virus's and
spyware and removed whatever was found

Its windows XP
IE6 SP1

any help appreciate

This sounds a little like a problem I am encountering. I
cannot connect to any http: pages after similar
situation. I found that I CAN connect to https: pages
though! Try that. Maybe we are onto something! I have
not found this in the FAQ or anywhere else.
