page cannot be displayed

I have had a problem using IE 6 recently. When trying to enter a specific web site in my browser, I get "page cannot be displayed" messages. If I press "refresh" over and over and over, it eventually finds the page. Sometimes after one refresh sometimes after 15 times. Was also gettting redirected to other sites when putting in specific sites addresses in my browser.

Also affects outlook. When I try to check or receive mail, I get error messages when initially opening prgram. If I press "send/receive" again most of the times my mail comes and goes. Sometimes I have to press "send/receive" a few times

Have installed spybot, adaware, pest patrol, norton anitvirus corp edition and mailwasher. Always find spyware but removes it no problem. Usually lists spyware found as low threat in all programs. Pest Patrol was first program to identify one spyware as having hijacked my browser. Fixed and said it removed problem

Did some research on net and found that my problem could be a result of a winsock file getting gimped from a spyware removal program. Ran a auto repair file for winsock. Problem still there. Have re-downloaded IE 6 and re-installed. Same problem. At a loss here as to what is causing this problem. Any body have any ideas

This usually indicates a corrupt cache ......
