Hi Guys,

I have the issue where the 3com Gigabit LAN disconnects after a time
on my new P4P800 Deluxe motherboard.

I have seen several other folks with this problem.

Here is what I have found from ASUS Faq so far:

I have not tried this yet for myself, but hopefully this will work:

Here are three solutions posted by Asus on different dates. Some of
this material will be redundant, but check it out.

Why does Internet Explorer brower works after gigabit ethernet
controller driver is installed, but not when I have installed
TrendMicro PC-Cillin 2003?

The LAN connection failure is caused by the malfunction of the
software firewall built in PC-Cillin 2003 Antivirus software. To fix
the problem, it is necessary to get an updated version of a system
file named TM_CFW.sys from TrendMicro, and overwrite the original
version in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers(Windows 2000 users) or
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers(Windows XP users) directory. The LAN
connection with Internet Explorer will be restored after the system is
restarted.

The updated version of the system file named TM_CFW.sys can be
downloaded from the following URL.

Why does onboard Gigabit Ethernet Controller always disconnected when
the firewall of PC-Cillin 2002 is enabled?

The packet of Gigabit data transfer over Ethernet is different from
10/100Mbps Ethernet. When the firewall built in TrendMicro PC-Cillin
2002 antivirus software is enabled, error would occur with Gigabit
Ethernet packet and results in LAN disconnection. To fix the problem,
it is necessary to get an updated version of a system file named
pcc_pfw.sys from TrendMicro, and overwrite the original version in
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers(Windows 2000 users) or
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers(Windows XP users) directory. The LAN
connection will be restored after the system is restarted.

The updated version of the system file named pcc_pfw.sys can be
downloaded from the following URL.

How about not using PC-Cillin? Wouldn't that fix the problem?
