P4P800 Network card

P4P800 deluxe, P4 3.6G 800 FSB, XP pro.
I cannot connect to the internet using the on-board 3Com adapter.
I have cable.
I have placed an HP EN1207 PCI ethernet adapter card from my
older pc on the board and that is how I am connected now.

Under device manager, under network adapters, I have 3 devices.
One is the HP. The other two are 1394 Net Adapter and 3Com
Gigabit LOM (3C940).

I have not installed the PC-CILLIN anti-virus that is on the support
CD. I have installed the driver for the 3Com from that cd.

How can I get the on-board network card to work?

Thanks,

Navid

Running at 3.6 GHz? What is the Intel rated speed for the CPU? Try
reducing the over-clocking just a little bit.

I'm sorry. That was a typo!
My cpu is a 2.6GHz cpu and I am running it at that speed.

Did you reboot your cable modem while attached to the 3Com? You usually
need to do that, otherwise it wants the MAC of the old card.

Thank you very much. You solved my problem ).
