When I log on to Outlook Express I get a popup window that says my windows
messenger is not the latest and asks if I want to download the latest
edition. When I click on Download I get the message that I have the latest
edition. What is going on?

you have got the wrong newsgroup
but reinstall the latest version of windows messenger
