Outlook XP does not allow delete messages or move between folder

After attemping to apply a rule on a message I recieved an error message that
flashed and I could not read. The rule was not applied. I tried to
"manually move the message and it would not move. I tried to delete the
message it was not deleted. In addition, I subsequently sent a message but
this was not moved from the out folder to the sent folder and so kept
resending. I have tried to "repair" office and although "successful" this
did not correct the problem. I have undetaken a virus scan but do not
really know if this is a virus or Outlook has been corrupted in some way.

Thank you for your response. I searched on *.pst and only found a backup
file with 738,313 kb that was last modified 31/10/2004. This doesn't seem
correct. I have discovered that I can delete files manually with shift and
delete so I am now tidying up the size of the file (wherever it is). I have
many folders that I use and have deleted all that I was puting "trash" into.

Once again thank you for your response. I have been delting as many messages
as possible and it seems to have corrected the problem. Many thanks.
