Rules on Outlook 2007

When created a rule to move emails received FROM someone into a folder,
somehow I get emails that are not from the specified alias being moved to the
destination folder.
For rules that are moving the email based on Sent TO some alias works just
fine.

I tried to create one rule per alias - initialy was doing OR, but does not
work too.

Below is what I have set

Apply this rule after the message arrives
from [the alias here]
move it to the [the folder here] folder
and stop processing more rules

By any chance, is the alias you are specifying for the FROM a distribution
list?

Yes, they are Distribution lists. --- Does Outlook expand the distrib list
for matching????

Changing the rule to be like...

Apply this rule after the message arrives
with [Distrib list alias name] in the sender's address
move it to the [folder] folder
and stops processing more rules

Ayup.

Why not just check for it to be *to* the Distribution list? Presumably you're
on the DL, right?

Yes, I can use TO filter, but these are automated emails - alerts etc...
I want to move only the original emails to the folder. If someone replies to
the email I don't wan't it to be moved automatically to the folder.

Thanks
