Outlook Won't Install

T

The Inquirer

OS: Windows XP Pro
App: Microsoft Outlook 2003

Problem: My Outlook suddenly stopped functioning. When I try to launch it,
I receive an error message that says "preparing to install" then I get a
message that says, "Operation failed due to installation problem. Restart
Outlook and try again." I tried to start the "OSE" service in the
Administrative Tools / Services / Office Source Engine. I configured the
startup type to "automatic" and the the "service status" to start, but to no
avail. Outlook still wont install and repair. What am I doing wrong? How
did it just suddenly stop functioning?

Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thank you

I followed your advice but I received a message that said, "installation
ended prematurely because of an error" and then it says "fatal error during
installation". All of my other office applications work fine. I designated
the repair to uninstall Outlook only but I receive the same message. Should
I remove office from my computer and reinstall? What will happen to all of
my office files while doing so? Please help. I need a resolution. I use
my applications for work. Thank you

Did I say anything about uninstalling Outlook? I said to use the repair option. What happens if you go back and try it again, this time following the directions I posted?

Youre kind of an idiot smart ass arent you? Did you read my reply??? I
told you that I followed your advice. I attempted to do the REPAIR OPTION
but TO NO AVAIL. I continue to receive error messages.
If anyone ELSE other than MILLY STAPLES can help me, I would appreciate it.
She seems to have an anal obstruction which seems to impair her ability to

"Microsoft" doesn't frequent Usenet. This is a peer-to-peer group.

Microsoft people don't usually respond here. Except for a few rare
exceptions, Microsoft employees don't even read this newsgroup. It's not an
official Microsoft support channel. If you want Microsoft employyes to
answer a question or help with a problem, you must open a support incident
by calling or emailing them.
