Outlook 2000 won't start up

Whenever I try to start up Outlook it goes through the start up wizard
saying: Another version of Outlook was installed on yoru machine prior to
installing Outlook2000. Did you use that version of Outlook to read
electronic mail?' Then it says: Answer YES to allow Outlook 2000 to use the
same confusuration as the previously installed version of Outlook. I say YES
and it starts up Outlook but then a pop up comes up right away saying Outlook
has stopped working. It says Microsoft will notify me if a solution is
possible.
Does anyone know what I've done wrong? If anything?!

What happens if you answer "No" instead?

The same thing happens....it immediately says Outlook is not responding and
then it closes down.
