Outlook trying to access non-selected SMTP account

Outlook keeps trying to access the SMTP server for an account not in my send
recieve group (Send and Recieve are OFF for this account). I know this
because it keeps asking for the password. It should not need it since I am
not sending anything from that email and dont use it for sending email ever.
It bothers me that outlook appears to be trying to send emails that I cannot
see (nothing in the outbox).
Thoughts?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

The above link did work for me, but it's trialware. I had the same problem
twice, a few months apart, and the second time I couldn't use it without
paying for it. But Microsoft puts out a free utility that will get the job
done. Try:
