Outlook Sync Programs - two computers

I have a home computer and have recently purchased a laptop. my home computer
has its outlook filed saved on my home server. (running windows home server).
MY wife and i share the same login on the the computer and hence both check
our mails from the 'same' account. i now generally check my mail while i'm on
the way to work and my wife dos so through out the day. WHile i am happy to
use a sync program to copy the .pst from my mail pc over to the laptop, i was
wondering if any of the programs offer the ability to sync the files if both
outlook .pst's have been changed inbetween sync's.

or anyother better option.

thanks in advance

You'd need a sync application for that such as;
http://addins.howto-outlook.com/itsth_e2s4o
or
http://addins.howto-outlook.com/mapilab_sharesync
If you decide to order use 4PM76A8 to get a discount

Another way to do it is to use an IMAP, hosted Exchange or Live Hotmail
account instead of POP3. Those account types support a 2-way sync.

Note that connecting to pst-files on a network share is not supported or
recommended by Microsoft as it could lead to poor performance, data
corruption or even data loss.

unfortunaly 'windows home server' dosn't support exchange and i dont want to
invest in a new 'always on' box just to host exchange (even though this would
solve my problems) however I currently use imap to do this function but
oulook freezes when opening and closing for several minutes while it syncs
the imap and its annoying when i just want to check one thing.

Will both these programs sync the .pst even if both copies are altered prior
to sync. I've already shelled out on a program that 'claimed to sync outlook'
only to find it gives a confilct resolution if both are altered and refuses
to sync. and technical support said it just syncs the .pst file to a second
PC not the individual components.

again thanks in advance
